Metro Tasmania – Sign-On Bonus Initiative 2025 Terms & Conditions

1. Program Overview
Metro is excited to offer the Sign-On Bonus Initiative 2025 to encourage applicants to join Metro as Bus Operators.
During the months of March-June 2025, new Bus Operators will receive a sign-on bonus when they successfully complete probation (6 months) and at 12 months of employment, in recognition of their continued commitment, achievement, and performance.

2. Eligibility
• The program is open to all new employees of Metro commencing in Bus Operator roles.
• The new Bus Operator must commence employment between 26 February 2025 and 30 June 2025 to be eligible.
• The Bus Operator must be hired for a full-time position in Hobart.
• The employee successfully complete probation at six (6) months to receive the first payment and be currently employed when they reach twelve (12) months service.
• The employee must meet performance expectations and continue to be employed with Metro at the time of the bonus payout.
• The employee must not have any unexcused absences or performance issues during the 6-month and 12-month periods.
• Employees who resign, are terminated, or fail to meet performance expectations during these periods are not eligible for the bonus.

3. Sign-On Bonus Amount & Payment
• After 6 months: A bonus of $1,000 will be awarded after successful completion of the 6-month milestone.
• After 12 months: An additional $1,000 will be awarded after successful completion of the 12-month milestone.
• The total possible bonus payout for the employee will be $2,000, provided both milestones (6 and 12 months) are successfully completed.
• The bonus is subject to applicable tax and deductions.

4. Performance Evaluation
• A performance evaluation will be conducted by the employee’s supervisor or manager at both the 6-month and 12-month milestones.
• The evaluation will include feedback on the employee’s attendance, job performance, goals, and overall contribution.
• Employees who meet or exceed expectations at both milestones will be eligible for the corresponding sign-on bonus.

5. Additional Conditions
• The new employee must not be a former Bus Operator of Metro.
• New Bus Operators must be external candidates (not current employees seeking internal transfers).
• Metro reserves the right to modify or cancel this program at any time.
