We currently have an opportunity for a Stores Officer to join the Engineering and Infrastructure Department in Hobart. Reporting to the Stores Team leader, you will be required to assist in the sound management of Metro stores.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining inventory control systems
- Creation of purchase orders and processing of invoices, pack, dispatch and receive delivery of freight items
- Assist with the monthly and end of financial year stocktakes in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie Stores
- Parts orders and allocation of parts to work orders
- Assist with the safe storage and distribution of hazardous/dangerous goods in accordance with Metro’s safety practices and statutory regulations using ChemAlert
- Test & Tag
- Operate inventory/parts interpreting software and parts manuals as required
- Complete daily and monthly reconciliation of fuel transactions
- Create purchase orders for vehicle repairs, liaise with Metro’s insurer, third Party insurers, Metro’s vehicle repair contractor and loss assessor as required
- Supervise the stores in the absence of the Team Leader
To apply for this role you should have:
- A current forklift licence
- A current drivers licence
- Be willing to undergo or have completed training for Test & Tag
- A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations is desirable or equivalent experience as a Stores Officer.
- High degree of attention to detail and have competent key board skills (Touch Typing is desirable)
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- To be mechanically minded, with the ability to navigate parts interpretation software
