Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Risk and Audit Officer is responsible for the management and implementation of Metro’s risk management framework, working closely with business units to ensure they are executing their risk management accountabilities, and that their internal control systems are operating efficiently and effectively. This role is pivotal in ensuring Metro is managing risk appropriately to achieve its corporate plan goals, in a period where our business is experiencing continued growth and change. The role is also responsible for managing Metro’s accreditation and ensuring compliance across the business and engaging with the relevant regulators.
To excel in this role, you will be an experienced risk professional, and hold a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in a similar role. You will have demonstrated your ability to build relationships and work effectively in partnership with business units and external agencies, and promote the ongoing monitoring, review and maintenance of a proactive risk management culture, which underpins our performance and success. Previous experience or an interest in a heavy vehicle/public transport environment is also highly desirable.
