We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our Springfield based Finance team in a full time position (38 hours/week). Reporting to the Manager Finance, the role will assist in the accurate and timely processing of end to end fortnightly payroll functions for all Metro employees.
Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Preparation of fortnightly, monthly and end of year payroll reconciliations and reports
• Administration of superannuation, union, taxation and other employee salary deductions
• Providing advice regarding legislative changes and employee agreements affecting employees
• Payroll analysis, review and exception reporting
The successful applicant will have the following knowledge and skills:
• A minimum of 3 years sound payroll experience in a large volume environment
• Strong understanding of employee agreements and Fair Work Australia requirements
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability prioritise tasks and juggle competing demands
• A confident and proactive approach with the ability to work independently and make sound judgements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem solving skills
Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel is essential with previous experience using the Chris 21 payroll system is advantageous.
