An exciting opportunity exists at Metro’s maintenance facilities for a qualified Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team.

Duties include:

  • Major and minor repairs of heavy vehicles
  • Diagnosis and repair of mechanical defects in buses
  • Diagnosis of faults on multiplex electrical systems
  • Programmed maintenance and repair work
  • Completing accurate records of repairs and servicing

In order to be successful in this role you must possess the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • Trade qualifications
  • Experience with heavy vehicles preferred
  • Team player
  • Ability to document, record and track servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to OH&S/WHS policies, procedures and regulations
  • Reliable and honest
  • Great work ethic
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
  • Have evidence of all Covid vaccinations
  • Be willing to undertake a full medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing

A Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic would be preferred however, we are happy to take enquiries and applications from similarly qualified tradespeople who would be willing to undertake further training to gain formal qualifications as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
