Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, the General Manager Corporate Services and Company Secretary will lead the Corporate Services division by providing high level strategic and operational oversight and advice relating to functional areas including:

  • Communications and Brand Marketing
  • Stakeholder and Corporate Affairs
  • Policy, Records and Compliance; and
  • Legal (including Privacy and Right to Information).

As Company Secretary, the role will also act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, ensuring appropriate governance for the company.

Based in Hobart, the General Manager Corporate Services and Company Secretary will work as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team to promote a positive organisational culture through engagement with all employees, and advance Metro’s strategic and change agenda. As Company Secretary, you will support the organisation with best practice corporate governance and overall compliance, together with leading the provision of strategic advice to ensure Metro complies with its legal, compliance and disclosure obligations.

The successful candidate will have extensive leadership experience, ideally gained at executive level, with demonstrated ability to build productive cross-functional relationships. A commercial mindset with demonstrated business acumen and proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels is also required. High-level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills are essential together with excellent communication skills.
