Business Analyst – Drive Innovation at Metro Tasmania

What you’ll do: As a Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring that technology solutions align with our business objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders, including business users and technical teams, to gather requirements, analyse business processes, and develop solutions that enhance our overall performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements, use cases and user stories, to understand and document the needs of the business.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations to optimise existing processes.
  • Work closely with vendors, suppliers and technical teams to define specifications for new systems, applications, or processes.
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams (including vendors and suppliers) to facilitate effective communication.
  • Build effective internal and external networks to influence others towards the achievement of set objectives.
  • In collaboration with the project manager, manage project scope and provide specialist expertise to ensure that the project stays within budget, quality and time parameters.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing with business stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and are user-friendly.
  • Support the transition of project solutions into business-as-usual operations across all sites (Hobart, Launceston and Burnie).
