Metro’s Finance Team is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant.
The role of the Assistant Financial Accountant is to prepare accurate accounting reports and produce reports in conformity with statutory requirements and Metro’s policies.
The position
Reporting to the Manager Finance, you will be working closely with the Financial Accountant and wider finance team on the following:
- Liaise with creditors and staff for the prompt resolution of invoice discrepancies and disputes.
- Preparation of accounting reports and production of a range of financial reports ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and Metro’s policies, including BAS, payroll tax reconciliations etc.
- Assist the Financial Accountant and Manager Finance with various, monthly, quarterly and end of year reports for presentation to external audit, Audit Committee and the Board.
- Analyse financial activities, identify inconsistencies, and propose possible solutions to the Manager Finance.
The person
To excel in this role you will:
- Have demonstrated experience across a range of accounting functions
- High level communication skills, which enable you to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Be experienced in production and presentation of accounting reports, ensuing a high level of detail and compliance with statutory requirements
