A change to the Hobart school service is now in effect as of 8 February 2023

To better service passengers travelling from Taroona High School, Metro has added additional capacity for the afternoon services. From term one 2023, the Route 282 departing Taroona High School at 2:47pm now terminates in the city and then proceeds as a Route X58 from the city at 3:20pm to Tolmans Hill and Mount Nelson.  Students are allowed to remain on-board as the bus changes from Route 282 to X58. This extra X58 service operates on school days only.

Route 203AM has been modified to improve area coverage for Hobart City High School. It travels between the City and St Mary’s via Davey St to Harrington St, and after departing St Mary’s now services a wider area of West Hobart and Mt Stuart.

Route 213PM has been modified to improve area coverage for Hobart City High School. It now travels via Ruth Drive and Pottery Rd en-route to Mt Stuart.

A number of Route 502 services from the City to Glenorchy in the PM peak which have previously been operating on an ad-hoc basis are now part of the permanent timetable.

Due to low patronage, two Route 451 services from Hobart College to the City that previously operated on Wednesdays and Fridays no longer operate.
