Thank you to all of our customers and team members who generously donated to this year’s FoodBank food drive. Metro has now concluded accepting donations for this holiday season. Please visit FoodBank Tasmania’s website for details on how you can donate to them directly.
This Christmas, we’re reaching out to our wonderful community to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. We’re excited to announce our partnership with FoodBank Tasmania for their annual Food Drive, and we invite you to be a part of this heartwarming initiative!
Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of the front line charities who are feeding vulnerable Australians. Foodbank provides more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief organisations nation-wide.
From Friday 24 November, Metro will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods and hygiene products at our depots and Metro Shops statewide. They will then be delivered to Foodbank, to support those in need.
How You Can Help:
We’ve set up donation boxes at each of our depots and in our Metro Shops. Feel free to contribute non-perishable foods and hygiene products – every item donated directly impacts someone in need.
You can view Foodbank’s donation guidelines here.
(Please ensure that any products you donate are unopened, within their expiry date and includes the ingredient/allergen information)
When and Where to Donate:
We’ll be collecting donations at the following locations:
- Burnie Depot (until Friday December 8)
- Launceston Depot (until Friday December 8)
- Moonah Depot / Metro Shop (until Friday December 15)
- Hobart City Metro Shop (until Friday December 15)
Please Note: While we appreciate the generosity of our bus passengers, we kindly remind you that items cannot be collected on board. If you’re on a bus and wish to contribute, please visit the nearest Metro Shop or depot.
Thank you! Together, we can make a meaningful impact in our community this Christmas.
