Thanks to the Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB), Metro will operate late night services in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie this NYE. With $2 flat fares from 6pm, be a real mate and ensure you and your crew make the right transport choice to get home safely.
Nightrider services are in addition to a regular weekday vacation timetable in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie that will operate on Monday 31 December 2018.
$2 flat fares are available as cash fares only. Passengers using Greencard will be required to pay the normal fare. Students tickets will be available at the normal fare.
Departure points:
Burnie: All services will depart from Metro bus interchange in Cattley Street
Launceston: From 9.20pm, most services (except route 90) will commence from Royal Park and travel via the St John Street interchange:
Hobart: From 10pm, most buses to the eastern shore and Northern Suburbs will commence from special bus stops in Salamanca Place (near the Supreme Court), then proceed to the Hobart Bus Interchange. Buses to southern suburbs will depart from Franklin Square then make a stop in Davey Street at the top of Salamanca Place:

Burnie
Normal weekday vacation services will operate through the day and into the evening. MAIB Nightrider services will commence from late afternoon to get patrons to the City and foreshore celebrations. After the family fireworks from about 10pm and again after the midnight fireworks, services will depart from the Cattley St interchange.

Extra buses will depart for all major destinations after the family fireworks from approx 10pm, and again after the midnight fireworks.
From 10pm, most buses to the eastern shore and northern suburbs will commence from special bus stops in Salamanca Place (near the Supreme Court), then proceed to the Hobart Bus Interchange. Buses to southern suburbs will depart from Franklin Square then make a stop in Davey Street at the top of Salamanca Place.

Normal weekday vacation services will operate through the day. MAIB NIghtrider services will be provided from about 6pm on key routes to help get patrons to City celebrations. Extra buses will depart for all major destinations after the family fireworks from approx 9.30pm, and again after the midnight fireworks. From 9.20pm, buses to most destinations will commence from a special bus stops in Paterson St outside Royal Park, then proceed to the Launceston City interchange and follow normal route.
