This year ANZAC Day falls on a Saturday and as such Saturday 25 April 2015 will be a gazetted public holiday. To show our respect and connect communities with services on the day, Metro will be operating a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable in Launceston and Hobart, and a Saturday timetable in Burnie as Burnie has no public holiday timetable. In Hobart, some additional services and a free shuttle will also run.
Consistent with previous years, Metro will again offer free travel on Saturday 25 April to veterans, war widows or currently serving members of the Australian Defence Force. To be eligible for free travel, these passengers must either wear uniform or service medals; or wear an ex-service association, returned from active service, or war widows’ badge; or present a DVA card.
Hobart
Metro will operate a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable in Hobart on Saturday 25 April 2015. In addition to a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable, header services will operate on some routes. Header services mean that an extra bus runs approximately five minutes before a scheduled service to alleviate heavy loadings and reduce waiting time.
These additional services will operate on the following routes:
- Route 100 Glenorchy to Hobart (before the City march)
- Route 610 Shoreline to Hobart City (before the City march)
- Route 74 Blackmans Bay to Hobart via Kingston Beach and outlet
- Route 100 Hobart to Glenorchy (after the City march and commemorative ceremony)
- Route 610 Hobart to Shoreline (after the City march and commemorative ceremony)
- Route 84 Hobart to Blackmans Bay via Outlet and Kingston Beach (after the City march and commemorative ceremony)
In conjunction with Hobart RSL, Metro will also operate a free circular shuttle bus in Hobart between 06:20 – 10:00 and 13:00 – 17:30 connecting City – Cenotaph – Salamanca – City. This shuttle will depart Hobart Bus Interchange Stop B approximately every 20 minutes.

Launceston
Metro will operate a Sunday/Public Holiday timetable in Launceston on Saturday 25 April 2015. Please be advised that services will operate approximately between 9.15am – 6.35pm.
Burnie
Metro will operate a Saturday timetable in Burnie on Saturday 25 April 2015, as Burnie does not normally have services on a public holiday. Please be advised that services will operate approximately between 8.55am – 5.40pm.
