Child Safe Statement of Commitment

Our commitment to child safety:

Metro Tasmania (Metro) is committed to delivering transport services that ensure the safety of children and young people.

We will:

  • Ensure we have robust recruitment and people practices, reducing the risk of inappropriate behaviour or abuse by our employees
  • Provide training and education to our employees on behavioural expectations, how to appropriately manage children and young people on buses and Metro’s reporting procedures
  • Listen, respond and report any concerns or allegations regarding the safety of children and young people
  • Engage children and young people, schools, parents/carers, police and community groups in matters that may impact children travelling on our bus services

Metro has appointed a Child Safety Officer who will receive all concerns and complaints regarding child safety and wellbeing.
