PLEASE NOTE: Metro continues to collect fares on all services.

Following a number of safety incidents, and to prioritise the safety of our bus drivers and customers, Metro will partially suspend services to/from Gagebrook and Herdsmans Cove from 9:00pm Friday 21 March 2025. This means that Route 522 will commence and terminate at Cove Hill Fair after 9.00pm.

This partial suspension will be effective from Friday 21 March 2025 and will be reviewed on 31 March 2025.

Evening services after 9pm will proceed as follows:

Monday to Friday:

・The Route 522 services departing Hobart City for Gagebrook via Bridgewater at 9:10pm, 10:10pm, 11.10pm (Monday to Thursday) and 12:10am (Friday) will instead follow the normal route to Cove Hill Fair, then terminate. They will not continue into Herdsmans Cove and Gagebrook.

・The Route 522 services scheduled to depart Gagebrook at 9:43pm (Monday to Thursday) and 10:43pm (Friday) will instead commence from Cove Hill Fair at 9:58pm (Monday to Thursday) and 10:58pm (Friday).

Saturday:

・The Route 522 services departing Hobart City for Gagebrook via Bridgewater at 9:10pm, 10:10pm, 11:10pm and 12:10am will instead follow the normal route to Cove Hill Fair, then terminate. They will not continue into Herdsmans Cove and Gagebrook.

・The Route 522 services scheduled to depart Gagebrook at 9:37pm and 10:37pm will instead commence from Cove Hill Fair at 9:54pm and 10:54pm.

Sunday & Public Holidays:

・The Route 522 services departing Hobart City for Gagebrook via Bridgewater 9:10pm will instead follow the normal route to Cove Hill Fair, then terminate. They will not continue into Herdsmans Cove and Gagebrook.

Services to/from Gagebrook that are not listed above will operate as normal.

Metro continues to work closely with Tasmania Police to monitor and respond to safety incidents.  Please note that there are no changes to Metro’s fare collection.  Metro continues to collect fares on all services.
